What do you love most about volunteering with A&BC and having gone through the On BOARD program?
I love meeting entrepreneurs across the Chicagoland area that have a passion for the arts. When I first started volunteering/joined the On BOARD program, I thought that all of the organizations would be the same but quickly found that the Arts & Business Council serves clients ranging from youth, the incarcerated and other unique populations.
What does volunteering add to your life?
Working with the Arts & Business Council has helped me understand the Chicago arts ecosystem. I have made friends and found new mentors. Being able to use my brain in a different way has made me better professional in so many ways.
What are some of your other interests?
My interests include traveling to national parks, hiking, working out, and entrepreneurship. My goal is to visit two national parks a year.
What goals have you helped organizations reach/other A&BC-related achievements?
I have helped organizations write strategic plans, position their brand, understand and market to customers, develop HR strategies and execute on them, and develop and hold others accountable for goals. In addition to the the BVA and On BOARD programs, I have also facilitated workshops on topics ranging from succession planning to strategic planning.
Funny stuff: favorite food, pets, season, etc.
I am a big fan of dark chocolate and lentils (not necessarily at the same time).
