What do you love most about volunteering with A&BC?
There are so many reasons, but I’ll have to say the people. The team I worked with on my projects have been amazing, we’re actually family now. My clients have also been really great. The passion they have for their work is inspiring, and it’s been so easy to get involved in their work and help them with their gaps. And of course the folks at A&BC. The entire experience has been so smooth to be a part of.
What does volunteering add to your life?
The variety of projects that I get to work on and the roles I get to play are a refreshing expansion to my day job. A&BC also lets me get involved with local projects that I care about, while contributing in a way that leverages my experiences.
What are some of your other interests?
I love the comedy scene in Chicago, as well as food, museums, and movies.
What goals have you helped organizations reach?
There are hundreds of things any organization can do as they grow. For Stage 773, a comedy theater, we helped them focus on some core, achievable objectives as they worked on the longer-term initiatives.
Fun stuff: favorite food, pets, season, secret talent?
For a couple of years, I tried my hand at improv. I went through the Second City and iO programs and even started my own team. We did shows all over the place and once hosted our own show. Now I’m really funny, oh and I made some lifetime friends.
