DWC fosters a diverse next generation of movers and makers, empowering young artists to cultivate their unique voices through skill acquisition and development, collaborations and relationship-building with a global perspective, intense and intentional mentorship, and performances shining a light on dancers and dance.

BVA Year in Review

It’s been another successful year for the Business Volunteers for the Arts program! In this calendar year, we brought on 41 new BVA consultants and trained 13 new Team Leads. Our consultants engaged in 27 pro bono consulting projects for our clients.  The total number of hours contributed by our consultants topped at 1,917, valued at $287,550!  A huge number for our clients!

Announcing Breakfast Club

The Arts & Business Council of Chicago is excited to host Breakfast Club, a monthly gathering on the first Tuesday of every month for arts administrators. These convenings bring arts leaders to discuss topics and share ideas relevant to the business of art. Breakfast Club supports leaders and staff of nonprofit arts organizations through informal peer-to-peer sharing, casual facilitated conversation, and information dissemination over cereal and coffee.

Announcing our Fall class of On BOARD Candidates!

The Arts & Business Council of Chicago's On BOARD Program promotes board service as an opportunity for leadership development and civic engagement. Program participants attend four half-day trainings and learn the fundamentals of board service including nonprofit phases of development, finances and tax issues, legal responsibilities, and fundraising. Participants also attend a networking event at the start of the program where they meet arts organizations and explore opportunities for board service.
